Dr. Samarendra Nath Panda is a distinguished academician and visionary administrator whose illustrious career, spanning over a quarter-century, reflects an unwavering dedication to the advancement of knowledge and institutional eminence. A luminary in Organic Chemistry, Photochemistry, and Environmental Chemistry, he masterfully amalgamates scientific precision with profound humanistic perspectives, demonstrating the transformative power of scholarship in shaping societal progress.
His exemplary leadership is reflected through key roles such as Director of the Vikash Group of Institutions, Principal of Vikash Degree and Junior Colleges, and Head of the Centralised Integrated Program. Currently, Dr. Panda serves as the Director of the Krishna Vikash Group of Institutions (KVGI), nurturing the academic ascent of KVGI from foundational schooling to the heights of university learning, while passionately championing research that illuminates and sustains the rich tapestry of local culture and way of life.

Dr. Panda’s erudition is grounded in his Ph.D. research from Sambalpur University, where his pioneering investigation into the spectral behaviour of cyanine dyes in amphiphilic systems illuminated critical photochemical phenomena at the molecular level. Alongside his doctoral credentials, he holds an M.Phil. in Physical–Organic Chemistry and an M.Sc. in Organic Chemistry from the same prestigious university, underpinning his lifelong scholarly pursuits.
A prolific researcher and author, Dr. Panda has contributed over twenty-five papers in distinguished SCIE, Scopus, and UGC Care-indexed journals and holds five patents, marking him as an innovator in chemical and environmental sciences. His authorship includes four seminal books—Impact of Industries on Water Quality, Essentials of Engineering Chemistry, Fundamentals of Biochemistry, and Environmental Chemistry—each serving as seminal academic resources.
Leadership, Governance & Institutional Building
Beyond research and writing, Dr. Panda’s administrative prowess shines in orchestrating major academic events under distinguished auspices like DST (INSPIRE), BARC, AICTE, CBSE, CHSE, NCC, and NCSC.
He has delivered numerous invited lectures and guided postgraduate, M.Tech, M.Phil. and Ph.D. scholars. Currently co-leading an environmental toxicology project funded by the State Pollution Control Board, Odisha, he also plays an instrumental role in statutory governance through active memberships in Boards of Studies, Research Advisory Committees, Academic Councils, and Boards of Governors.
